I recently had the privilege of attending and graduating SFA Bootcamp 56. SFA prides themselves on the immersive experience of Firehall living. Students bunk in the same dorm, eat, train and study together. Training is provided by incredible instructors who live, breath and work firefighting. It really is training done the RIGHT way.

I had an awesome experience at SFA learning the foundations and skills to become a firefighter with their pre-service bootcamp program. SFA has a great amount of hands on learning and the school simulates a real life fire station environment. Its also filled with top level instructors who are all experienced firefighters from a variety of municipal departments in Ontario, such as Jesse, Joe, Brad, Brian and others – who want the best experience for each student. Incredible program, challenges your skills as a firefighter and a person, knowledgeable instructors and a clear passion for firefighting and keeping the “grit” of firefighters alive. I highly recommend this program! The instructors here take the time to make sure you know what your doing and why. You will be pushed and you will think this is hard. But it is worth it! This program will sharpen your skills, it will make you stand out in a group of candidates.
This program changed me a bit. I think about some everyday tasks a little bit different now, I have more drive to push through things.
